Normally, you should avoid using Draw Pile cards if you don't need to, since you get a point bonus for unused ones at the end of the level. However, if you have just a single face-up card in the Draw Pile, you should try to use that in your final word, since it will give you additional points, but after submitting the final word the next Draw Pile card does not flip, so there's no penalty.
